Pompeo Pontone – Biography
Pompeo Pontone is an Accredited Investor and Investment Specialist with 30 years of experience in Investment Management and a solid 10-year background in Computer Science and Software Development. He graduated in Economics from the Bocconi University in Milan in 1994. He continued his studies in London, receiving a Master of Science in Quantitative Finance from the Birkbeck College, where he is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Computer Science.
His career started in London in 1995, working as a Research Analyst at Stone & McCarthy Research Associates. He came back to Italy the following year and served as a Fixed Income Analyst at Unicredit in Milan, contributing to the publication of works such as “The Italian Treasury Bond Guide” and “Investment Strategies: Financial Newsletter”. He consolidated his position within Unicredit Group by moving to Dublin and joining Pioneer Investments (currently Amundi-Pioneer), a firm specializing in investment funds management, holding the position of Vice President and Senior Fund Manager. In 1999 he was appointed Director - Co-Head of Credit Portfolios & Asset Management at Intesa Asset Management (known today as Eurizon-Intesa San Paolo). From 2001 to 2002, he held the position of Managing Director - Head of Corporate Bonds & Credit Derivatives Asset Management at Fineco Asset Management. Soon after this experience, he moved back to London and joined BMPS, where he was appointed Managing Director - Head of Corporate Bonds & Credit Derivatives Proprietary Trading. Between 2010 and 2012, he held first the position of Managing Director - Head of Alternative Investments and Asset Management at ALTIAM - Amstel Securities LLP, and then the role of Senior Financial Advisor at Method Investments & Advisory Ltd.
Since 2013, Pompeo Pontone has expanded his expertise into Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, completing certified programs in Machine Learning at Stanford University and Information Security at the University of London. Over the course of his career, he has founded and led several innovative ventures: in 2022, PROMETEUS KC, focused on Software Development, SaaS, and Cybersecurity, and in 2024, MONACO BYTE LABS, a company operating in Software Development and Consultancy. Today, he is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of the startup VIRAL-MENTE, which is active in AI, Software Development, and AI-Driven Digital Marketing.
He speaks English, Italian, and Spanish fluently, and has a basic knowledge of French and Thai. He is a PADI Certified Dive Master and holds an RYA Day Skipper (Sail & Motor) License.
